Members of UPAG were once again on hand at Hands On History at the Howard County Fair! We joined lots of other historic preservation groups from the area in sharing information with the Fair-going public. Bringing archaeology to the masses!! -- that's what we're about!

2015 ASM / MHT Field Session look pretty parched in these pictures! But they're doing good work this week; rumor has it
some more post holes have been found. Can't wait to see the report!

herring run park, baltimore, may 2015:
Archaeologists Lisa Kraus and Jason Shellenhamer, with support from Baltimore Heritage and a platoon of volunteers, began excavation in the park to locate the ca1760-1865 Eutaw House and mill complex. Early units revealed a cellar hole and evidence of the 1865 fire that destroyed the home.

EASTERN STATES ARCHAEOLOGICAL FEDERATION ANNUAL MEETING -- 2014
The Archeological Society of Maryland played host in Solomons, MD, October 30 - November 1, to colleagues from the United States and Canada at the 81st Annual Meeting of the Eastern States Archaeological Federation. Over 70 presentations by professionals, avocationalists, and students covered a fascinating array of topics, themes and research areas in the Middle Atlantic Region. Activities included tours of Historic St. Mary's City and the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Lab, and a reception at the Calvert Marine Museum. Dr. Henry Miller, Director of Research for Historic St. Mary's City, gave an entertaining and informative keynote talk on the development of archaeological investigation and historic interpretation of Maryland's first capitol.
